1660 - Isaack B Fubine of Savoy, in The Hague, patents macaroni. (Macaroni is a variety of dry pasta in the shape of narrow tubes. If cut in lengths with a curve it is usually called elbow macaroni. The name comes from Italian Maccheroni, plural form of Maccherone. The academic consensus supports that the word is derived from Greek malaria, a kind of barley broth which was served to commemorate the dead).

1907 - The First Electric Tramway service commenced in Bombay. This service was inaugurated by Municipality Chairman Vallabhdas Thakersey and Municipal Commissioner Sheppard at 5.30 p.m. This tram was well decorated and destined from Municipal Office to Crawford Market.
